On his sons(my fil ) manifest,it is listed that he paid for his sons passage(there was Mavina with him-does this mean that she was his daughter and would it not say that he paid for her to)It lists his address as 26 Canal(this would be ;ower Manhatten-NYC-what would I have to look for in order to get his Census) I have looked on the 1910-20 census for NYC under his yiddish name Chaim and under Hyman znd cant find him. If his son came Sept,2, 1906. would he not have to be here two maybe three years before in order to save for the passage? I've checked 1903 passenger lists without success! Is it true that the ship companys could be the money collectors or was it banks(agency)and if so what banks? If he lived there, how would I track down his second family which I know nothing about,except he had two girls and two boys.
