[Pam Rietsch] Since so many of you may have had people that went from the NY, PA & Northeast/Mid Atlantic areas to Michigan I thought I would post this here in case it might help you find some of those lost souls <g> Keep trying the new search engines also as they respider the site every week and so there is always new stuff for them to find. Hi All, Hope your holidays are going fine. We had a great Thanksgiving traveling to Madison WI to visit family and it was a wonderful break <g> But when I got back I went right back to the work pile and finished up the Livingston County MI Honor Roll Book....This thing is phenomenal. I must admit to not being very interested in history growing up but found this data to be really inspiring. There are over 1000 bios, some better than others but tons of them have photos too. There are about 200 GAR photos of people in the Civil & Spanish American Wars. There is a fascinating section called the Illustrated Review of the World War. The people listed within come from all over the country being born everywhere from CA to MA and all around. Not sure yet how they got included in this particular book. Also lots of info on the Home front, Boys Scots, Red Cross, Volunteers etc. Now I am scanning in the 1875 Plat Book Atlas for the county., which will include tables of who is listed on the plat maps that I got courtesy of Milt Charboneau who is a wonderful resource here in the county. Hope this helps someone. Go to the LivGenMI site and click on the Bright green new section or http://www.LivGenMI.com/ww1title.htm [Pam Rietsch] I have also just begun the uploading of the 1875 Plat Book Atlas with a complete listing of landowners courtesy of Milt Charboneau, a wonderful local researcher...Maps are up & resident listing is done through the letter E.
