I don't think you can make a blanket generalization. I don't use FTM and don't know what CDs come with it, but have other CDs from Broderbund (publisher of FTM) which have been highly useful. Their World Family Tree series comes under fire because a lot of the family trees on it are innacurate, incomplete, or poorly documented. But hey, these are trees which were submitted to Broderbund by folks like us. (Although I think regular subscriber to this list would be a cut above the average.)
