I've been doing research on my family for 20 years, and have NY roots on both sides. I have LINK, BOGART, TURNEY, and SMITH ancestors from Saratoga Co., DECKER and CASTON ancestors from Ulster Co, all in the 1800s. These are from my dad's side. >From my mother's side, my grandfather, Matthew Patrick BURNS was born in Brooklyn, his parents were from Ireland (came in during the time frame when there are no indexes to the NY pass. lists).
