I am looking for information about my g-g-g grandfather: PRINGLE, Alexander b abt 1800 in Scotland Came to New York between 1810 and 1818. Sister, also in NYC--PRINGLE, Helen b 1804 in Scotland in NYC in 1818. Married Hannah S. UNKNOWN (my g-g-g grandmother) before 1838--I don't know where they married. Children: Helen Salina b. 1838 and Alexander G. b. 1840, both in NY but I don't know the locality of the births. There is an Alexander PRINGLE that died in New York City, New York Co., on 8 May 1845. I have reason to believe this may be MY ancestor as his widow (Hannah S. PRINGLE) remarried late in 1845 also in NYC. Can anyone tell me how to find the death record for Alexander? I know there must be one somewhere for this info to have shown up on an index but I am not sure who would hold this record from 1845. Thanks, Courtenay Cour10ayMN@aol.com
