Marty -- In reply.... You'll find two lists of NY CW regiments on links from http://SNYMORAC.MORRISVILLE.EDU/pages/library/local_history/sites/ The one by county might serve your purposes... http://www.snymor.edu/pages/library/local_history/sites/obtained.htmlx A complete list of regiments is found at http://www.snymor.edu/pages/library/local_history/sites/unitinfo/ Don't overlook the black regiments recently appearing in lists, too... I will also post to this maillist, three 1998 emails that purport to contain a complete list of all NY CW regiments (the source is given but I've not verified it). These three emails were posted in June 1998 From: Stu Hotchkiss <Stu_Hotchkiss@MLSONLINE.COM> To: NEWYORK-ROOTS-L@LISTSERV.INDIANA.EDU These will follow immediately. I hope this information meets your needs at a lower cost than buying it. // Regards, Gord HINES (in Regina SK Cananda) Marty Irons wrote: > Subject: NY regiments in the Civil War Resent-Date: Tue, 7 Sep 1999 14:59:04 -0700 (PDT) Resent-From: GEN-NYS-L@rootsweb.com Date: Tue, 7 Sep 1999 17:51:03 -0400 From: Marty Irons <k2mi@juno.com> To: GEN-NYS-L@rootsweb.com > Hi NY Rooters, > > I would like to purchase a listing of all NY regiments in the > Civil War for use at the Orange County Genealogical Society. > > We have the 1999 listing of NY soldiers, showing their > regiment(s)...but we don't know where their regiments were > formed. > > By now I feel sure someone has compiled this information > into one document.
