Phisterer's _NY in the War of the Rebellion _ is a 12 volume work that gives a few pages on each regiment, and a sentence or two about each of their officers. I would call it 'the bible' of NY Regiments, but I don't know about it's availability. I see individual volumes at bookfinder.com for around $100 each. I have limited access to that work, so I've never looked for another-- so if someone has another idea, please post it to the list. jim
