    2. PERKINS-DORCHESTER HISTORY Posted by Kevin O'Brien <USER683614@AOL.COM> on Tue, 31 Aug 1999 Surname: PERKINS, DORCHESTER I am seeking any information anyone can provide me regarding the family of Nathaniel PERKINS. He was my great-great-grandfather. Nathaniel was born(I believe) in Hounsfield around 1825. On December 28,1848,he married a beautiful lass named Martha DORCHESTER,the daughter of Hooker Dorchester. Nathaniel and Martha had nine children (that I know of):Harriet "Hattie" 1850,Caroline (my great-grandmother)1852, Emma 1854,Kathryn "Kate" 1855, George 1857,Jackson 1859,Chloe 1862,Alfred 1868,and Bertha 1870. In 1862 Nathaniel enlisted in the Civil War Army, serving in Company H of the 10th New York Heavy Artillery, where he served until 1864 when he transferred to the U.S.Navy. The family then settled in Richland Township,Michigan. Nathaniel passed away there in 1907 and Martha in 1913. Does anyone know the names of Nathaniel's parents? Did he have any siblings? Most importantly, are their any other living descendants. I have compiled an extensive family history that I will gladly share and I'm planning on sending a copy of the finished book to the Flower Memorial Library. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Kevin M. O'Brien Laguna Hills, CA
