Thanks to all who have responded to my message re the marriage index site. I just tried it again and just stayed with the opening page and it was just fine and was indeed an excellent genealogy site. My apologies! As one person pointed out, I may have accidentally clicked on one of the commercial sites which are often advertised. Whatever I may have clicked on certainly took me far from genealogy and that is when I ran into difficulty getting out of it. I had no problem this time. I promise to check further before sending any more such messages.
