Seaman Taken from the Genealogical & Biographical Record Vol 117 Number 2 April 1986 THE OLD CLOCK CONTRIBUTED BY BERNICE WEIR I purchased an old clock made by Nathaniel Dominy of East Hampcon, Long Island, NewYork. Inside the door were the following notes:" This old clock was made for Nathaniel Seaman in the year/ 1779. He being a Quaker he had the said clock and case made without onaments and had/ he clock in his possesion / for 37 years and until his death / in the year 1816. Then Sarah, the widow of/ Nathaniel had the said clock / in her possession for 5 years / until her death in the / year I821. Then Nathanal Seaman the / grandson (of] Nalhaniel and wife / had the said clock in his possession- for 27 years and until his death in the year 1848. Then John H. Seaman the son / of Nathaniel and Mary had the / said clock in his possesion from his mothers- death 1875 / until his death in 1890. Then Mary Elizabeth Willet* / Seaman, widow of John H. Seaman, had the said clock in her / possesion thirty four years / until her death in 1924. Then Clarance Witllets Spader, / grandgrandson of John Henry / Seaman. Clarance Willets Spader / died 13 December 1964. Then toJohn Henry Seaman / Spader, son of Claranoe WilIets / Spader. John Henry Willets /Spader died 4 June 1969. Crossed out, and Pettit written instead of Willet. "The last owner of the dock was a direct descendant and supplied the genealogy and gave me the bible."
