She told me that someone might give me the "subject heading" and/or some other way to locate the posts from this group earlier this year pertaining to the "pre-Ellis Island" emigrants. SCornelia Schrader-Muggenthaler lists the long-lost child, Eduard Arbogast, who was born in Obersteinbach to my great-great-grandparents,Jacques & Magdaleina Arbogast like this: EDUARD ARBOGAST destination: New York Year: 1854 source code: 8123.10 Source: SCHRADER-MUGGENTHALER, CORNELIA. Pg 4 I am absolutely certain that this is my Eduard--as another source gives the same information and says that he is from Obersteinbach--which is where Jacques & Magdaleina lived--and there were no other Arbogasts who lived in the entire Canton of Wissembourg. I have been told that there is a possibility that if I find out where the records for the pre-Ellis Island emigrants are located that I might obtain some information about Eduard. Like who he came here with. I have searched GTA and found no mention of his sailing in 1854. Thank you for any help you are able to give me. Buffy
