My GGGGgrandmother, Sarah de la Farge, was born about 1750 in France. She married Silas Howland of Darthmouth MA about 1768. All their children were born in Syracuse, NY. I have been unable to find out much about either. Actually, nothing more on her. I know there was a famous family from Jean de la Farge who married Louise Josephine Binsse in about 1834 in LaFargeville, Jefferson Cty, NY and moved to NYC where their son, John was a famous stained glass artist and contemporary of Tiffany. I know the Binsse family was commenorated at the Methodist Church in Shrub Oak, Putnam Cty, NY. John, the artist, married Margaret Mason Perry, the granddaughter of Oliver Hazard Perry (the American Naval hero), and he died in Providence, RI where they lived. They also had a home in NYC. I have never been able to link this family to my Sarah but there are so few de LaFarges that I think they are, perhaps, related. I would appreciate any and all information on the surname de LaFarge or LaFarge. Audrey
