    3. Hi listers, Does anyone has any information on AARON, ADOLPHUS or NATHAN CLAPP? I think there is a big possibility they are related to my great great grandmother MARY ANN CLAPP. I have been trying to find information on Mary Ann Clapp and her parents but have been at a brick wall for. Mary Ann Clapp married Lyman Simpson. This couple are shown as living in Sheldon, Genesee (now Wyoming), New York in the 1830 census. My Clapp line has been a total brick wall but I recently found that Aaron, Adolphus and Nathan Clapp were early settlers of Bennington, Genesee (now Wyoming), New York on a microfilmed book called "History of northwestern New York : Erie, Niagara, Wyoming, Genesee and Orleans counties" by John Theodore Horton. This book did not say where the family came from. Aaron and Adolphus were mentioned separately from Nathan so don't know if they even tie together. I wish I could give more information on Mary Ann; but, I don't know where she was born but from the census I figure she was born between 1800 and 1810. I only know she married Lyman Simpson before the 1830 census was taken but don't know the year or place. They o had a child born about 1830 after the census was taken and a second child born in New York abt 1833. By 1836 they had moved on to Illinois where two more children were born. According to family tradition Mary Ann died 10 Feb 1840 Brewster, Stephenson, Illinois four days after her youngest child was born. I have not been able to find any records in Stephenson County on this family and Lyman all his children but the baby are shown on the DuPage County Illinois census for 1840. I have not been able to find any further information on them in Illinois. Lyman and all but the youngest child moved on to Indiana. I have lots more info on Lyman but would like to find something on my Clapp line. Even the smallest bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Marla blarson@ubtanet.com
