Thanks to those who responded to my query trying to locate Pompton Plains, NY. We have all decided that the only Pompton Plains is in New Jersey (Zip 07444) - not NY. The train station that I referred to in my original post also is in NJ. The puzzeling aspect of this is that there are a fair number of people whose address comes up Pompton Plains, NY. This village is within 15 miles of the NY line, but is not large enough to sprawl over it. If anyone disagrees that Pompton Plains is only in New Jersey, please respond.
