"New York in the Spanish-American War" 1898, part of the report of the Adjutant-General of the State for 1900, was published in 3 volumes, nicely alphabetized by unit, but no overall index for some 2,700 pages. If you know the unit it's easy to find the soldier or sailor, but if you don't know the unit it takes a long time to go through all the units. Does anyone know if a master index has been created for these 3 volumes? If so, where can my genealogical society purchase a copy? Thanks. Marty Irons
There was an index done on this series of books by AIS. Family History Library has a copy of it. http://www.genservices.com/contact.html They have the index for sale at $300.00 2 volumes - very thick volumes - about 3 inch or so thick. I remembered the index too well. Well done and published in late 1980s. Ronald V. Jackson was the original owner and he sold business to GS before his untimely death in Nov. 1999. He was my former employer for 15 years before I left to start my own business.
