Brian like you I am interested in tracing my family and only want genealogy information. I use the site from the UK and am not really interested in the opinions of minority groups in America. Don't leave the group Brian as there are others out there who may benefit from your knowledge. We in the UK need folks like you to help us. Could a filter be put on those who want to use this site for non-research purposes? I delete the messages without reading them and hope they will stop soon. I second the motion that most of us out here only want genealogical information and your input is needed, as is mine and that of other participants of this group. Don't care for the opinions of others and if it happens, I ignore it. More of "us" quiet ones out here than you might imagine. Enough said. Don't anyone waste anymore energy or time on THIS subject. Let's get back to genealogy. Actually, I found the town name meanings quite interesting and most likely helpful. I was wondering as we were in Ireland last summer and went to Kilkenny Castle, my son thought that was a weird name to "Kill Kenny". What do Kil mean in Irish/Gaelic? Does anyone know? Keep the information coming. Evelyn
Hi Evelyn, I plugged it in to Google and found that the prefix Kil- in Gaelic means "church".
