Hello, Someone on the MA List was just asking about "Washington Village." Out of curiousity, I put that into a search at www.google.com and I found this web site .. which offers a short description of the town of Washington, MA. It looks like there is quite a bit of information about "The Berkshires" here: http://www.berkshireweb.com/themap/index.html You don't see the Berkshire Mountains mentioned very often on the Lists, but it probably has "a history." .... Just went to look.. found these: http://www.pittsfieldweb.com/history/ http://www.berkshireweb.com/themap/greatbarrington/history/ http://www.berkshireweb.com/themap/stockbridge/history/ http://www.lenox.org/history.html http://www.villagebeautiful.com/history/ http://home.att.net/~Local_History/MA-Berkshire-Co.htm Note: There is both a Washington, MA, and a Mount Washington, MA. See below: http://www.virtualcities.com/ons/ma/x/as/maxb0a35.htm and .... visiting the mountains... in general .... http://www.mtn-guide.com/sumovu.cfm/ma101.htm Have fun ... Betty (near Lowell, MA)
