Additional, for Olive, [email protected], and general info: I was in error when I wrote that you could find more info on President Martin Van Buren's wife Hannah HOES in "Ancestry of the American Presidents", by Gary Boyd Roberts, 1995. Hannah was Martin's first cousin once removed. Maria HOES was Martin's mother, and it is Maria's ancestry that is shown in this book, not Hannah's. My mistake. I was confused by the surname HOES. However, there may be a link between Martin's wife and his mother. --------------------------------------------------------- For info on the ancestry of American presidents, you can find extracts from Gary Boyd Roberts' 1995 book at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~rwguide/presidents/ Select a president from the index, then you will see his ahnentafel listing for several generations (a subset of what is in the printed book). --------------------------------------------------------- For more info on President Van Buren's wife, try http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/firstladies/hvb8.html >From there you can click on "presidents", then select any president from George Washington up to the present. --------------------------------------------------------- I highly recommend Gary Boyd Roberts' (1995 version) of "Ancestry of the American Presidents". In addition to ahnentafel listings it shows relationships between presidents, Mayflower lineage, relationship to royalty. If you're a descendant of early New England families you might find your ancestors in this book, and learn your relationship to US presidents. I did. Marty Irons
