Because Kevin note WAS political, and Susicp simply gave link to an important article that everyone who does genealogy should be concerned about no matter what party you belong to! Its a trend beginning to happen to restrict our access to the records we so desperately need to do our research. It doesn't matter what connections the magazine has to what party, the message is that we could lose access to the records we do reseach with!!!! Also, while the rules are the same, 70 years, the article mentioned 70 to 100 years! I for one, would not be happy if they uped it to 100 years! In NJ one of our assemblyman is trying to put through a bill that could restrict our access. I don't even know what party the person is with that proposed this bill, but I don't see everyone whining over the republicans or democrates being picked on. Instead everyone is joining together to send letters to our assemblymen to add a clause that would allow non certified records for genealogy! And thats the point to being INFORMED about what is going on. People should be writing in to protect our access instead of crying over Bush's name be attached to it. I wouldn't care if its Bush or President Clinton, I would want to know what was going on, and to try to get it changed so we don't lose our access! SusiCP note WAS about genealogy, but Kevins note was nothing but name calling of Hillary and democratics. Stop crying and let those in charge know how genealogists feel about it In a message dated 2/28/2006 1:06:27 PM Eastern Standard Time, connie.usa@verizon.net writes: I don't understand why you are reprimanding Kevin because he is responding to a message that was totally political from SusiCP@aol.com. Now if your going to reprimand anyone it should be Susi, thank you very much.
