Clinton; born in Pompey, Onondaga Co., N.Y., June 29, 1803; son of Norris CASE, who was from Connecticut; his father was a sea captain, and sailed to the West Indies; Mr. Norris CASE was in the war of 1812, was Colonel of a New York regiment; was born Aug. 31, 1771, and died April, 1819. James O. CASE married, Oct. 23, 1828, Angelina WILCOX, daughter of Giles WILCOX; have had three children - Estella (married R. D. STONE, of California, and died Nov. 21, 1870), Seymour (married Almeda WINTERS; their children are Homer M., born April 9, 1867, and Ella, Feb. 19, 1877), Celora (married A. C. SWIFT, and is living in Colorado). In October, 1844, Mr. James O. CASE came to Clinton and settled on 120 acres; there was not a fence in sight at that time, and more Indian trails than roads. Mr. CASE himself and wife have been members of the Methodist Church for thirty years. Mr. CASE was Commissioner of Highways when Wisconsin was a Territory.
