    1. Dennison Herrick

    3. One of the sons of Ebenezer(5) and Esther (Braman) Herrick was named Dennison Herrick. His date of birth is not known by me but it may have been about 1779 and occurred in MA, perhaps Westfield. The first I have found him is in the 1800 census in Middletown, VT along with his two brothers, David and Daniel, and his sister, Phebe, who was married to Silas Rudd. The 1800 census listing shows him as between 16-26 with a female 45 and over. I believe the female is probably his mother. From various sources (not primary except for the censuses) on the internet I have found that he was married to Lucy Sweet, probably in NY State. The 1810 census has a D. Herrick in Oneida County (town not known by me) with two males under 10, one male 26-45, one female under 10 and one female 26-45. In 1820 there is a Denison Herrick in Catharine, Tioga Co., NY with one male under 10, one male 16-25, one male 26-45, one female 10-16, one female 26-45. In 1830 there is a Denison Herrick in Catlin, Tioga Co., NY with one male 15-20, one male 50-60, one female 20-30, and one female 50-60. In 1840 there is a D. Herrick in Prattsburgh, Steuben Co., NY, one male under 5, one male 6-70 and one male 90-100, one female 20-30 and one female 6-70. The elderly male in the 1840 census is Jonathan Sweet, father of Lucy Sweet, the wife of Dennison Herrick. One listing I have found on the internet for this family gives Dennison and Lucy a son Frank Dennison Herrick, born in NY. He married Delilah Bagley, March 1838, daughter of John Bagley and Hannah. Frank and Delilah Bagley had a son, Dennison Herrick born 17 March 1839 in Steuben County, NY and died 2 July 1882. This Dennison was married to Marion Loraine Howe. Dennison and Marion had a son Frank Dennison Herrick who was born 8 Oct. 1878 in Wellington, Sumner Co., KS and died 13 Jan. 1941 in Pueblo, CO. They had three children, Marion, Glenn and Frank Dennison Herrick, Jr. Does anyone recognize any of these people so that they can add more to the line? And convince me that this is the line of Dennison Herrick, son of Ebenezer and Esther (Braman) Herrick? I have a bit more information on some of the people mentioned above if you are interested. Thanks, Joann Nichols
