Robert: Have you looked at the Troy Irish Genealogy website http://www.rootsweb.com/~nytigs/ Under PROJECTS 1. Check out the Rensselaer County Marriage Index where you will find one Ide listed. If this Ide is yours, you can order copies of the marriage documents for $5.00 from the Rensselaer County Clerk. Details are on the website. 2. Check out the Prominent Citizens of Rensselaer County data base where you will find several Ide's listed. Thank you, Robert. Yes, the Ide family of Saratoga County and later, Troy is well documented but there is no evidence that my Ides and those Ides are related. I have contacted many of the living Ides in the Troy family with no luck at finding a connection. The two families use several of the same names (Harris, Orrin), but that could simply be a coincidence. I have subscribed to Linda's newsies bu haven't seen anything yet. How often does she post it? Is there a website that you can go to to do searches? Jackie
Betty, In a few months, Rootsweb will allow subscribers to have access to a Website where they can make their own changes. So have patience. I have four small lists, and I had only had one request for the MIME change. The chatter I see on the Listowners List is that many LOs do not know what the request means, and how to do it. They supposidly received a URL for a tutorial on the new Mailman system, but many have ignored that too. Hello, I have e-mailed the Administrator of the List twice (one in Sept., one in Oct.) and requested that I be changed to the MIME format for my Digest. And, I have not had a response. I'm sorry for posting this here, but I don't know how else to contact the List Administrator. I know that it is a very easy thing to do; all the Administrator does is un-check the Plain Text box for my Digest. (At least 20 Administrators have not responded to my request, out of over 100 Lists.) Thank you for your time ! Enjoy your weekend ! Betty (near Lowell, MA) P.S. After 6+ years of research on-line, I have not actively researched in about 6 months. But, my 12+ years of KIDDER research is still on my mind ! And, I would still like to find out where Wilder KIDDER, who fought long and hard in the Revolutionary War, died. He was born and raised in NH, along with my ancestor, his younger brother, Calvin KIDDER, but I'm told that Wilder had returned to NH from NH but did not die there. (Calvin went to New Brunswick and was in a fatal accident in 1799. We believe their younger brother, Joseph KIDDER, was a young soldier in the War and might have either died in NY, or returned to his home and lived a quiet life, leaving no records.)

Linda's bits and pieces have helped me to solve a mystery in my family and I am so grateful for her hard work. In 1875 my great aunt's husband, Daniel Doran had suddenly disappeared from the family. He was young and I couldn't find a death or burial for him anywhere.
