--=======754638F4======= Content-Type: text/plain; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-39054612; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit I am in the process of tracing my wife's family history. One of her grandmothers was Elizabeth Parlee, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Delong) Parlee. We know that these PARLEEs came to the US from New Brunswick, Canada. We believe that Elizabeth PARLEE was born in Kings County, New Brunswick, Canada in 1876. She married George Albert SCHNEIDER in Hartford, Connecticut, USA on 15 September 1904. The Morman Church, in their International Genealogical Index, lists John A. PARLEE marrying Elizabeth Margaret DELONG on 27 May 1868 in Kings County, New Brunswick. I have heard that Elizabeth is descended from Jean and Abigail (Jones) Perlier through son Peter (bapt. 1736 in New York) through son Isaac (born 1762 in New Jersy) through son Peter (born 1801) through son John Alexander (born 1828 Norton, New Brunswick), Any dates and places of birth, marriage, and death and references that would help us get started in tracing these people which you can supply would be greatly appreciated. --=======754638F4=======--

I'm a Sanders/Saunders I just found out my people came from the Burdick settlement. Sally Chirlin(Cuz) is suppose to send me bunch of info photo copied from scrapbook at Historical Society in Norwich. But that aside. What really caught my attention was the Kanouse/Kanous surname. You see one of my dearest and best friends when I was growing up in Flint, Mich. was Nathan Kanous. It's sad but he passed away in the 1980's in his mid 50's. Nathan was one fine person. I had trouble trying to locate him or his children because I was spelling the name Kanaus. That's what age does for you. I have his sons Email if your interested and that is another story in it's self. He is a Pharmacist in Minn? It would please me to no end if Nathan turned out to be my kin. I have a copy of "New York Alien Residents 1825-1848," compiled by Kenneth Scott and Rosanne Conway, would be happy to do look-ups upon request. The book is a listing of persons intending to become citizens, but holding land prior to the accomplishment of naturalization. Because they were not yet citizens, the law would not allow them to bequeath or convey, or inherit land until they were naturalized. A law was enacted in April of 1825 allowing those who so registered as intending to naturalize, to safeguard those rights. This book covers some 4,260 registrants, covering the years 1825-1848. The information notated after each name varies, but usually gives information of interest to the genealogist.

--=======24C31F5B======= Content-Type: text/plain; x-avg-checked=avg-ok-164A3412; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit I am looking for the marriage date of Aryan Fransen DeLanget (AKA DeLong) to Rachel Jansen Pier. The date I had was 1689 in Kingston, Ulster, New York. But this appears to be after the birth of their children Frans in 1681 and the next 4 children. I notice that the LDS Ancestral File has the marriage as 1679/80 which seems to be more in line with the dates of birth of the children that I have. Aryan is on of the ancestors of the Loyalist DeLong families that moved to New Brunswick, Canada after the American Revolution. I am searching for the parentage of Elizabeth "Betsy" COWLES, who was born 29 November 1837 (using a birthdate calculator), perhaps in Spencer, Tioga County, NY. She died on 20 July 1894 and is buried in the North Spencer Cemetery, Spencer, NY. Betsy married Philo KELSEY circa 1859-60. Philo was killed in the Civil War and Betsy never remarried. There are other COWLES buried in the North Spencer Cemetery and wonder if her father may be the Elon COWLES listed below: (All surnames COWLES) Betsy, b. 20 Feb. 1822; d. 12 April 1904 Elon, d. 11 December 1872 age 78y 3 m 7d (b. 4 or 6 September 1794) Isaac, d. 19 September 1838, age 2y s.o. Elon & Lucinda Jason, b. 29 May 1822; 8 August 1902 Lewis, d. 5 May 1873, age 45y 4m Lucinda, d. 2 February 1894, 94y 1m 25d, wife of Elon Maria H., b. 17 December 1811; d. 24 May 1866, wife of Jason Prudence, b. 22 September 1824; d. 22 May 1897, wife of Jason Is Betsy COWLES KELSEY the daughter of Elon & Lucinda COWLES? Elon was born in Canaan, Litchfield County, CT in the heart of where my ancestors were from. I am not directly connected to the COWLES OR KELSEY lines but they *are* connected to my family. Betsy COWLES and Philo KELSEY had two children that I am aware of: Charles Franklin and Philo Lewis. Help on this line greatly appreciated. Janice
