Just curious. Have a letter written in abt. 1908. It mentions having cloth to make waists for my grandfather. Would this mean shirts or pants? Sarah
Maybe Josh could try a search at the history channel web site and find something on it. Also there is a pretty cool site called newspaperarchive.com You can get a free membership and search for articles on it. Free membership doesn't allow you to search in the page itself, but that doesn't bother me. I look at the whole image of the newspaper page just fine. You need the DjVu Plug in but you can download it right from their site. I found a bunch of articles in the NY Times on the next murder story my friend and I are writing from the 1880s. -- Cindy Amrhein Town of Alabama Historian Genesee Co., NY ********************** Historian's Page - Alabama, NY http://www2.pcom.net/cinjod/historian/ Experience the town of Alabama in Genesee County, New York. My g.uncle tells me that she lost many friends in that incident, and because of that, she became a communist. She would have been about 20 at that time and a recent immigrant from Ukraine. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I vaguely remember reading that there is something that can be looked at in only NYC and Albany. Is it a death index? I might get a chance to go to Albany, and would like to be reminded of what research I can do there that we can't get easily by mail. Any suggestions? Nancy
Also, if you want to request no less than 3 record copies(and as many as you wish)--these can be for you or anyone else wanting one--you can fax in your request to DAR and get back your copies in about ten days or less. You also must pay for it be credit card. Email me if more info is desired re:this. It it currently taking longer than 6 weeks to get a response. I'm still awaiting one from about 9 wks ago. Still looking for leads on my g grandfather purported to be David Samuel Clark. My grandfather Franklin Homer Clark b. NY 1850 - 1857 stated in the 1920 census while living in Warsaw, NY that his father was from MA. David believed to have married a Lucy A (also a Clark if records are correct). Frank was living apart from his second wife, Elizabeth Louise Frank (Green) a widow he married in 1897, and their children in 1920. He died later that year. Judy
