Has anyone used the databases at http://www.arkion.se? They are a part of the National Archive of Sweden, and have have Swedish Census 1890-1900, Seaman Houses 1752-1960 and several others. Since my g. grandfather was a swedish seamen, he is probably in the Seaman Houses database. My main problem is that they do not have a English web page, so I do not know how to find the information. Are their databases free? Can someone tell me how to use their site, and get the information on the Seamen Houses? Thanks.
Hi there! Your main problem is solved - they do have an english web-page with the kind of information I think you are interested in - look right and click on "english"! And no, their databases arenŽt free, as is explained on the web-page, where you also can get information on how to contact them for more details. My hint for you is to get in touch with Tommy Dahlberg, project organisation and support, at [email protected] , he will help you with your problems!
