The name Nesby (=Næsby) is not a patronym. A search for the name Næsby in the census records of Aalborg county on ddd.dda.dk gave only 3 hits. Two of them the same man in the 1860 and 1870 census: Jens Christensen Næsby. He was a farmer in Øster Hornum parish, Hornum district, Aalborg county and had a daughter Marie born around 1858. Jens Christensen Næsby was born in Gunderup parish, Aalborg county around 1826. It's remarkable that he's a baptist and not member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark. Before WW2 98% of the Danish population were Lutherans.
