It would have helped had you also given the name of your grandfather. I know there is Hæreid and Hereid in Årdal in Sogn. There is several Ole's and Ove there, but I couldn't find anybody with anything close to Seamonsen. You have your grandfathers name and it might be possible to find him on the emigrant lists, but of course I couldn't check since I don't know his name. Hi Lou, Where in North Dakota did he go?? Do you have an obit on your grandfather? Who did he marry? Children? Have you found him in any census records? Did he homestead?
