Hello, I am a newbie to the group. I'm researching several families, below, who emigrated from Sweden in the 1860s and settled in Rockford, Illinois. I have located the children's families on the Illinois censuses back to 1880 but have not found any of the parental units although we are fairly sure they emigrated (from family photos taken in Illinois). I don't know the points of entry to the US, and haven't even begun to research Swedish resources. Would love to hear from anyone familiar with these names. Thanks, Ingrid 1) My SALEN ancestors who emigrated in 1869, possibly from Sorlsbye, West Gotland, Sweden.
