Per-Ake, Thanks very much for the pointer - I had been to the RSV site previously, but I hadnt found that page. Based on this info and some more digging on the 'net, I managed to find where Kristine Kyrka is. If anyone else is interested, go to http://www2.lantmateriet.se/ksos/index.html ...and search for 'Kristine kyrka' in 'Västra Götalands län'. I havent able to find 'de Roten', so perhaps it has been redeveloped since 1890 or maybe it isnt a street name in the modern sense. The info on Kareby also says (I think) that it had a double 'r' before 1860, so maybe the 1890 census taker was being old fashioned.
