Does anyone know of (or have) a Swedish emigration CD (similar to the "Germans to America" CD)? I think I *may* have found my g. grandfather, Anton Olof Jonasson Ljunggren, in the LDS Swedish Vital Records, but have to check to see if he immigrated to America.
Do you have more info? Hi......... I've been trying to determine when my gt.grandfather/parents came to the USA. Along with any of their 8 or more children. I have a list sent to me of this family from the 1890 Swedish census. Looking for.... Jonas Petter Bergstrom b 1852 in Wiksjö Wife: Anna Greta Bergstrom Skoglund b 1852 Nils Johan b 1873 Anna Lisa b 1875 Hulda Kristine b 1877 Per Enoch b 1880 Karl August b 1883 Agnes Hildur b 1886 Knut Erik b 1888 Jonas Oskar b 1890 I believe there is another child named Lillian born after Jonas O but I can be wrong. In 1890 census the Home parish is Hernösand, residence Hyresgäster I do know by 1920 Jonas Petter was residing in Dorechester, Massachusetts I would appreciate anything on this family to learn more of them. Thank you for your help! They were both 61 years old. Jonas Peter was noted as a sheet-metal worker foreman. The source code (1914:248) on the CD seems to be truncated and thus it isnŽt possible to se if any of the children went with them. But searching on the truncated source code, none of the children is listed. It looks like they travelled on their own. There is an Anna L Bergström, 21, from Skönsmon, departing from Göteborg 1895-10-25 to Quebec. Source code 56:447:3181 There is an Oskar Bergström, 20, from Y. Lännäs, departing from Göteborg 1910-11-25 to Boston. Source code 93:472:185 I hope this gives you an opening. Regards Kurt F
