I'm looking for information on a John A. Peterson who immigrated to Wisconsin c1878 (1900 census was hard to read). He was born c 1857 in Trondheim, Norway. Settled in Waupun, Fond Du Lac County, Wisconsin. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Karen Peterson

Good morning - - A valuable resource is: <http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/wc/webcens.exe?slag=meny&spraak=e> I searched the 1880 Wisconsin Census in the "Norwegians in America" category and Trondheim departures in the "Registers" heading under "Emigrants" with no result. When searching I've learned it's better not to completely spell out the names. Better to give the first couple of letters. There are just too many variations. Good luck in your search. Ed Eide
