Does anyone know how to find out the destination of the Cunard ship that left Bergen on 25th March, 1901? A guess is Hull, England, but I am not certain. According to www.norwayheritage.com, Cunard Lines' own records are lost: "We are missing departure information on the ports of Bergen and Stavanger 1867 - 1925." TIA. Sigurd
There were eight other passengers who left Bergen with Ludvig on March 25, 1901. Two of them were his paternal uncles Ole and Erik Jetmundsen. Erik was a miner from Alaska, an American citizen. I haven't been able to find any of the nine in Ellis Island records. Do you suppose this bunch went through Quebec, Canada. In 1865 Ludvig's grandfather Gjetmund Monsen and family were living at Høsteland, Lindås, Hordaland; see: <http://www.rhd.uit.no/ftsoek/ftsoek.asp?kommando=bosted&ftaar=1865&spraak=engelsk_britisk&kommnr=1263&kretsnr=0001&bostnr=0043&leilnr=000> Regards, Ed Eide
