My great-great grandfather, Talleiv Aamundson Flatland Högeli, from Vraadal, Telemark, came to America from Norway in 1847. Is there anywhere online that has ship passenger lists for that year? (The ship lists on www.norwayheritage.com jumps from the year 1844 to 1848.)

Thanks for your reply. I had visited this site once before but didn't see any passenger lists. Are there passenger lists on this site? If so, how do I navigate the site to get to them?

Most of the databases cover the time from about 1870 to about 1930. I just found one database covering the time before 1867, and that is a list from Stavanger. If your ancestor left Norway from another port, then I think you have to search somewhere else... If the page is not in English, you can change by clicking "English" (second link at the blue bottom-line). Good luck!!! Espen

Oops..I replied too soon. I did figure out how to navigate the site through the databases. However, it doesn't appear to have any passenger lists from the year I need either. Oh well...!
