Hi all- New to the board and I am researching my paternal grandmothers side of the family. Margrete Henriksdatter, she was born in verdal, norway in 1895 and according to the online census information ive found her to be the daughter of Henrik P. Holman (b. 1869) and Anna Gurine Martinsdatter (b. 1873)... i seem to find no information on Henrik or his parents and would like any help i can find. further, Anna Gurine Martinsdatter is the daughter of Martin Thoresen (b. 1839) and Ingebor Anna Haftorsdatter (b. 1847), Ingebor is the daughter of Haftor Andersen (b. 1822) and Lorentze Jonsdatter (b. 1810) and Martin is the son of Thore Gabrielson (b. 1803) and Ingebor Olsdatter (b. 1802). This is where ive hit my brick wall... it seems all these people were born after the 1801 Census and therefore I cant find out who they were decendents of. Anybody who has any information or further info on various siblings (i have thier names too but am not listing them) all findings were in the municipality of Verdal with the following Domicile names: Skjordal - 1865 Census - Thore and Ingebor Birken - 1865 Census - Haftor and Lorentze Bjorken - 1875 Census - Martin and Ingebor Bjorken nedre - 1900 Census - Henrik and Anna from family history I know that Henrik, Anna and thier children moved to Illinois, USA somewhere around 1903. They used the name Holman in America and Margrete became Margaret Holman DeArmond after marrying French/Canadian decendent Eugune Field DeArmond (unknown date of marriage) and bore one son, Eugene Field DeArmond, Jr., my father.
