This might work. My grandmother came from Halland. You could write to Stadsarkivet in Malmo, St. Perrigangen 7a, 211 20 Malmo, Sweden. Nearly all emigrants passed through the ports of Malmo or Goteborg, and had to register with the police, who recorded names and addresses, age and sex, occupation, place of birth and intended destination.
