I am trying to find my English great grandmother for my Family Tree. Her name is Mary Elizabeth Whitaker. She was born in England in about 1858 and married William Henry Selene on about 1876; he was an American Citizen in England and he died in 1887. Her daughter Edith Gertrude Selene was born 21 Mar 1878 and her son John Henry Selene was born in Wiggen England on 8 Nov 1880. My great grandmother brought the children over to America in 1887 and changed their last name to Sellen. My grandfather Charles Sellen was born in 1888. My great grandmother has two sisters, Mrs Chadwick with one son Ernest, and Mrs Rigby who has several children. She also has a brother, Richard Whitaker who has two sons; James Whitaker who lived in Bolton England and William Shaw Whitaker who lived in Leeds. Some of this information is from solicitors Coope & Kenyon in Bolton England on 21 Jan 1931. I worte a letter to them about 35 or 40 years ago requesting current addresses of the children but they ignored my letter.
