Hello, The Ste Helen's medal database is still growing and reach now the number of 100 000 soldiers of the first Empire who got the Ste Helen's medal in 1857. The names and history of these men are available for free on our website and database. english version:http://stehelene.geneactes.org/anglais.htm french version:http://stehelene.geneactes.org/index.htm We consider that about 1/3 of the total number of people who got the medal are now known, whom the great majority of belgian ones. We thank all people who are voluntary working on the project. Their names are on the first page of the site. We are still working to find all soldiers that are unknown. We are thinking that, such as in Belgium, some of them might have been decorated in other countries. We are wondering about some soldiers coming from Denmark or Sweeden (with Bernadotte). If you are living in this country and want to help us, please try to search in your archives places or ask the question to the curators to know if the medal has been distributed in your country. Then contact us at this adress: mailto:sthelen@caids.net You may also add a link or a logo on our website (look on the english page of the site) Thank you for your attention and your help -- Philippe RAMONA The genealogist's toolbox: http://www.es-conseil.fr/pramona The great internet genealogical databases: Geneanet:http://www.geneanet.org Geneactes: http://www.geneactes.org GeneaBank: http://www.geneabank.org Migranet: http://migranet.geneactes.org Ste hlne: http://stehelene.geneactes.org Invalides: http://www.geneactes.org/hoteldesinvalides
