    3. Dear Todd, What a small world it really is. I was born and raised in Two Harbors, but now live south of Minneapolis in Lonsdale. My maiden name is Murphy, and I used to baby sit for some Ronning children when I was a teenager. (In Seggog). My husband is the Norwegian in our family though with a name of Baldwin, it doesn't seem like it. But there are alot of Hansons, Hovlands and Dorrs in his genealogy. I have several nationalities, but my Scandinavian ancestors are Roden from Sweden (only God knows where in Sweden), and Sorensens from Nykobing Mors, Denmark. I have had wonderful success locating them over in Denmark and finding them coming to Duluth in 1869. Christin Sorensen was a master carpenter in Denmark, as was his family. He continued that in Duluth, and I have found the house he built in East Duluth about 1875. I have great pride in his skills. It was a very interesting article about you in the paper. It is great that you are continuing in a family skill such as you are. I have seen the map of Lake Superior that is at Blackwoods in Two Harbors. It is truly a work of art. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to make that one. This summer when we were waiting to be seated, my husband and I debated how long it would take to do that. Nice to meet you, Todd. Do you know if anyone has chosen to take over the Two Harbors rootsweb.com site? Also, when did your family settle in Two Harbors? My Irish Patrick Murphy had a lumber camp up on the Drummand line in the late 1890's. My English Towers married my Danish/Swedish Grandmother in Duluth, and they settled in Two Harbors after they got married in 1908.
