I think I can give you the agnatic line of your grandmother, but some of the links are not quite proof. If anyone can confirm or oppose this line, please shout! 1. In 1698 Erik was married in Trondheim Cathedral to Ellen Cyriacusdatter KATHE. She was born abt. 1666 as a daughter of the pharmacist Cyriacus KATHE in Trondheim. I have just got records of two children (but there might be others): 14.8 Anne Bredal (b.abt.1752) 15.8+ Fredrik 15.8 Fredrik Wilhelmsen SCHYTTE He was born (in Hamarøy?) 1760 and was parish clerk in Hamarøy. I have just got record of one son: 16.15+ Wilhelm 16.15 Wilhelm Fredriksen SCHYTTE Wilhelm was born in Hamarøy abt. 1814. He farmed at Hjelseng until abt. 1870. Wilhelm was married to Johanne Eliasdatter (b.abt.1814) and they both lived at Hjelseng in 1875. They had at least these children: 17.16 Emilie (b.abt.1836). Farmed at Lilandsås, Hamarøy 20.16 Hans Wilhemsen SCHYTTE He was born in Hamarøy abt. 1846 and went to the city of Tromsø as a young man to be an apprentice at the blacksmith Anton Klæboe. Some years later he went back to Hamarøy where he farmed at Hjelseng beside being a blacksmith. Abt. 1869 he married Elisabeth Pedersdatter (b.abt.1850) from Hamarøy and they had these children in 1875: 25.20 Erik (b.abt.1870) 26.20 Peter (b.abt. 1872) 27.20 Hilda (b.1875) which may be your grandmother. I have found none of this family in the 1900 census, so it seems reasonable that they emigrated before that year. Knut Bryn, Molde
