Hi Mike The first Nordstroms store opened in Seattle Wa As far as I know it opened in the 30's or 40's and it was the only one that I had ever heard of. Then I moved to California in 1960 and the Nordstroms started opening all over the states in the late 60's or early 70's I imagine your ancestor was in Seattle WA. I hope I have helped you Jean
