This must be Lars Pederson Teigen that Dag Hoelseth pointed out. He was born at Teigen under Sandvik farm in Luster parish (Gaupne subparish) 1848.09.08. He was the 6th child (of 10) of Peder Pederson Teigen (1809-1885) from Aurland parish and Christenca Torbjørnsdatter Eikum (1813-1883) from Hafslo. Lars emigrated to Crawford Co. in 1882 and married there 1887.06.01 with Oline Olsdatter. Lars (called Louis) and Oline (called Olena) farmed at Rush Creek, Freeman township, Crawford Co. and got 11 children: Elmer, Peter, Lottie, Christina, John, Steen, Anna, Rudolph, Alfred, Oscar, and Hannah. Quite a lot more details are found in the bygdebook for Luster which is my source. If you want to find out where Teigen is, you have to find Marifjøra in Luster (Lyster) on a map of Western Norway. Teigen is about 2 km along the coast southeast of Marifjøra. The g-g-grandmother of my wife emigrated to Crawford in 1874. She later on moved to Sterling in Vernon, but some of her children settled in Freeman. Knut Bryn, Molde
