I've posted to the Sweden mailing list, it is now time to expand my search. Claus Hadlund, b. 11 March 1865 in Sweden, d. 5 March 1951 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, married Matilda Sofia Sandberg, b. 9 Oct. 1859 in Sweden, d. 24 March 1942 in Council Bluffs. They wed 1 Feb. 1890 in Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska (just across the river from Council Bluffs.) I have also found him listed as Cleas and Claes Hadlund (it could even be Hedlund if nobody could understand his Swedish accent), and her as Matilda Sofia Stenberg. They came to the United States in 1888 and became citizens between 1910 and 1915. His father is either John Elison, Elison Hadlund or John Elison Hadlund, his mother is either Mary Peterson, Katherine Peterson or Mary Katherine Peterson. Her father is either John Sandberg or John Stenberg, her mother is Gustava Mongas, Gustva Mauerson or Gustava Mauerson, b. 1834, d. 12 Dec. 1924 in Council Bluffs. Children of Claus and Matilda, all born in Council Bluffs: Gustav A. Hadlund, b. 1890, d. 1892 in Council Bluffs; Carl G. Hadlund, b. 1 Sept. 1891, d. 12 Sept. 1913 in Council Bluffs. He didn't marry; Eloff Joseph Hadlund (grandfather), b. 9 March 1894, d. 8 Sept. 1958 in Council Bluffs. He married Maude Irene Rief, b. 12 Dec. 1899, 18 Jan. 1988; Oscar Albert Hadlund, b. 28 Oct. 1897, d. 13 Feb. 1967 in Omaha. He married three times, first to Leora Mae Catlin, b. 11 March 1903, d. 30 Dec. 1928 just after childbirth, second to Neoma Lee ____, third to Anne Alberta Erickson, b. 15 July 1897, d. 13 Sept. 1980; Lillain Leanna Hadlund, b. 10 Dec. 1899, d. March 1984. She married Wilmer James Buck, b. 23 Nov. 1898, d. 23 Oct. 1979; Ruth Elanore Hadlund, b. 29 July 1902, d. 1983 in Council Bluffs. She married Carl Flanagan, b. 25 July 1900, d. Feb. 1985; Esther M. Hadlund, b. 8 Aug. 1903, d. 21 May 1991 in Omaha. She married Peter B. Bentz, b. 23 June 1900, d. June 1966. I've also run across a couple of reference that some of the Hadlunds came from Norway. I'm confused.
