Jeanne in Maine...How great of you! I'm looking for my mom's father who abandoned the family around 1916. His name was Ludwig Johnson...it's possible Ludwig is a middle name, his first name might have been Herman, Elmer or Arthur. They lived in Veblin which I think is in Pierce Co. Their youngest was born there... his name was Arthur. Ludwig left Veblin with a preacher , his wife (my grandmother Agda) divorced him and he died shortly thereafter perhaps in 1917 or 1918.
