Fanø is, of course, Denmark (as well as Thisted) Arnstein

    3. Ca. 70 km from Thisted - going east there's a town called Vester Hassing. This town had an inn keeper by the name of Fanoe (Fanø) - a quite dominant person in the area. It's very likely that these people were sailors and therefor got around a lot - and could easily have found the girl of his life in Tønsberg, Norway. All the best, Anni (I'm from somewhere in between Thisted and Vester Hassing)
