    3. I saw someone found living Scandinavian relatives simply by posting to this newsgroup, so I will give it a try too. My great great grandparents lived in GYRSTINGE near Ringsted, Denmark. RASMUS LARSEN born 11 Mar 1823 at Vester Egedesborg, Presto. Died after 1906. married 1859 to BIRTHE MARIE HENRIKSDATTER who was born 1835 at Terslev, Forslev, died 1894 in Gyrstinge. Their children all born in Gyrstinge: LARS CHRISTIAN RASMUSSEN born 13 Dec 1859, went to America about 1880 (my great grandfather). ANE KATHRINE RASMUSSEN born 27 Mar 1861, went to America about 1880. HENRIETTE MARIE JOHANNE RASMUSSEN born 18 Oct 1872, married 30 Nov 1893 at Gyrstinge to PEDER OLSEN born 7 Dec 1866 in Pedersborg-Soro. Their children all born in Gyrstinge: ANNA MARGRETE OLSEN born 22 Jan 1894 BIRTHE MARIE OLSEN born 26 Dec 1896 MARIE EMILIE OLSEN born 29 Ma 1902 Roberta Olson Mueller rlm@camano.net

But otherwise I would advise you to also put any inquieries on danish genealogy in the danish newsgroup dk.historie.genealogi Don't worry, most danes read and understands english pretty well and most of them also speaks and writes sufficiently. Peculiar to you it may occur that the traffic in the danish newsgroup (as also in the norwegian ones) are by far larger than in this common-scandinavian, while on the opposite the swedish national groups are hardly used at all; swedes appearently prefer to meet on web-sites and "haven't seen the light" of UseNet yet... ;-))) See you there...
