Found a reference to Eagle Foot, Norway. Can anyone guess what this refers to and/or where the place is? -- Betty and Don Russell Visit our web page at: www.geocities.com/arizbetty

As far as I know, 'eagle foot' (Norwegian: ørnefot / oernefot), could correspond to [ørnefot], a name/term known from the medieval scandinavian nobility. (This description may be inaccurate, but I'm sure someone will correct / supplement it). Tjøstel Nilsen, his daughter Karen/Karin(e) (dead 1584) and Tjøstel's son's son Baard Nielsen (1572-1635) carried the [ørnefot]/Skelle sign in their signets (ref.: Tore H. Vigerust - toreher@online.no, who is a Norwegian professional genealogy historician and would be able to supply information on this topic). Per Nermo nermo@online.no
