    3. In 1706 a death was recorded as 1 post Trin. Am I correct as translating this to 23 May 1706? There is a word in front of the 1 which for the life of me I can't figure out. Does it mean anything to change the date? Dave

Stein N. Wisted

The date depends on which country you're talking about. In the twin kingdoms Denmark-Norway we used the Gregorian calendar after the year 1700. In Sweden it was not until 1753 they finally swithced from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar. 1 post Trin would means the first Sunday after Trinity. In Denmark-Norway 1706 that would be June 6th.
