Hi, My granddad, Johan Gustav Hagberg, born in Sweden (Värmland) in 1863. Somethime before 1884 he crossed the border to Norway. He married an Norwegian woman, Inger Marie Olsen. About 1888-1889, and 1900, 1903 and 1905 he has registered emmigration to USA, but he returned to Norway every time. One of his children, Emma Mathilde Johansen, was born in USA in 1889. (He later took the surname Johansen.) Does anyone have any ideas how to trace him in USA. Shiploggs tell that Boston was his destination for the three last times. Regarding finding you grandfather in the US. If his destination was Boston each time he emigrated have you looked for him in the Massachusetts census records? If his daughter Emma was born in the US, check the vital records for Massachusetts and see if she was born there. Regards, Cg
