If you need a webhost to put said image on (and if it's OK to post) I can give you some room for it. My email works, you can mail it to me or we can transfer it a different way. Let me know. Could someone who has access to the archivalieronline.dk database help me decipher a record? I'm reluctant to post a screenshot of the image if there are copyright or procedural restrictions, but will do it if this is permitted, just let me know. The record is a birth record from Tønder in the 1832-1864 database, Opslag 506. The top record is for Catharina Maria Petersen. My great-grandmother had this name and was born in Tønder, but according to her records her birthdate was Aug. 10, 1862, not April 20, 1862 as in this record. There's no Catharina Maria Petersen born on the date I have specified for her. I can't make out the names of the parents. On the 1878 passenger list when the family came to the States her father was listed as Peter Hansen Petersen and her mother as Elise Christina, but I can't read the parents' names clearly on Opslag 506; it doesn't look like Peter or Elise, however. The witnesses are difficult to read too. The first is a Catharina ____sen, the second unintelligible, and the third looks vaguely like Lorenz Peter Petersen---which, if true, is the same name as Catharina's future father-in-law. Can anyone help? I'd hate to jump to conclusions about what I'm reading. Maybe one of you can see the image more clearly than I can. ---- saki@ucla.edu

Petersen You guys are good at this! Sorry that it's not my ancestor. I'll keep looking for her. I have conflicting information about her birthplace. One was Tønder, the other Leck. I suspect that Tønder is correct, though the family emigrated from Leck in 1878. Her future husband, Hans Peter Petersen, was from Tønder as well, though I haven't been able to locate him in the archive either (born June 6, 1850). Just as with this record I can find a Hans Petersen born about four months earlier but not on the exact day I need. Many thanks for the offers of assistance. One thing I note from perusing archivalieronline.dk is that my eyes are gradually becoming accustomed to the various handwriting and format styles of these records. It makes reading filmed records a lot easier for me. ---- saki@ucla.edu

Hello! Thank you! Yes, this is correct. It seems like Karen are also called Caroline. In the churchbooks (written by Norwegians) they use Karen, in censuses they used Caroline. I have been at the Emigration Museum at Hamar today. Where I found the birth of two sons born in the 1860Žs. Bought have the mother Karen, but in 1860 and 1880 Census she is named as Caroline. -- Hilsen Liv Marit Haakenstad www.genit.no "Donald Ross" <donaldr@itis.com> skrev i melding news:41B5C4D8.9ECBCC2C@itis.com... > > Hi Liv, > > In Coon Valley Cemetery Records,Vernon County,WI > > Ole Pedersen Gullord 1829.07.18 - 1902.11.18 > Karen Gullord 1832.06.03 - 1906.04.02 > Caroline Gullord ? ? > Both Karen(1)& Caroline (2)are listed as his wife. > > Peter V. I am interested in these records, are they in a searchable format? I am looking for a specific member of the "Black" family, who are located towards the back on the right side as seen from the road (back towards the equipment shed). How can I see the records of this cemetery? Several generations of my ancestors are there. Thanks, Dave Hinz
