I believe these children were twins. Next to their names it says something like " Fvillinger". Would this mean twins? Deb

    3. Hi Listers, Today I found some info on my relatives at the LDS FHC. I need some translation help. I am hoping that those that speak Norwegian will be able to tell what the words are as they are hard to read and I am guessing at some of them. :) In the Christening records for Sunnylven it says: Gimmadobb yarmenndagg???.....:) several big words I cannot read then...dode fal han kone Kirken? This is listed under the date of Birth and it is not on any one elses that I can tell. Looks like it was written in special. Looks like this person had a twin, maybe it has something to do with that? Under the twins baptism date is also says something but it is time for my dinner! Thanks a bunch from Deb

    3. This might work. My grandmother came from Halland. You could write to Stadsarkivet in Malmo, St. Perrigangen 7a, 211 20 Malmo, Sweden. Nearly all emigrants passed through the ports of Malmo or Goteborg, and had to register with the police, who recorded names and addresses, age and sex, occupation, place of birth and intended destination. These records starte in 1867 and are almost completely indexed. Lykke til, Betty Doug Holtz wrote: > > Hello; > > My g grandfather can not be traced. 2. Hi, this place did an excellent job on my grandfather. If you know about when he immigrated, send a letter to the following address; Swenson Swedish Immigration Research Center Augustana College 639 38th St. Rock Island, IL 61201-2273 or I think by now you can get search request form from the website; http://viking.augustana.edu/admin/swenson They will do a search for $20.00, at least it was that much a couple of years ago. They gave me the name of the ship he sailed from Sweden on, date of birth and the parish and county he was living in at the time of immigration. They even gave me the address of the archives that would have the parish record where he asked permission to immigrate.

    1. Help finding Ladebodn
    2. Dear All, I have successfully traced my ancestors to Mecklenburg/Vorpommern in NE Germany. However, I am now stuck! My G*5 grandfather's birthplace is listed as 'Ladebodn' in the parish of Wÿen. I have scoured German Gazeteers and various other sources including alt.soc.genealogy.german and cannot find this anywhere. There was talk in the family of Danish origins and I was, therefore, wondering if anyone in this newsgroup would be kind enough to see if this village/parish is indeed Danish.
